John came with his gripping testimony to EHS Thursday. It was a great time of influence as John was able to share how God changed his life. From being addicted to drugs at 13, to a gang at 14, to many near death experiences, to his life transformation at the age of 17 when he asked God to save him and change his heart. He went on to explain how the past ten years of his life have been the most amazing ten years. Special thank you to all the parents that are assisting the students as they stand firm in their faith and reach out to their peers with the good news. The students of VHS had a great huddle Monday as they had CSUF baseball player Mike Lorenzen speak. Mike brought many students to Christ. There were roughly 90 students there as Mike shared his testimony and walk with Christ. As always, Mike was revelent and on point with reaching the kids. Night of Champions 2012

45 recieved Christ for the first time and close to 100 re-committed their life to Christ on Friday night at Night of Champions. Where over 1,200 students from all the FCA schools in Orange County came together for the night. Speakers from USC football, Pro Lacrosse, and Pro snow boarder were great influence on the night.

Former OLu Alumni Dave Heim Speaks

Dave Heim played football and basketball here at Orange Lutheran and went to play football at University of Arizona. Dave has recently taken a job as youth ministries director at Salem Lutheran. Last Wednesday, Dave came in and spoke to the kids in FCA. It was impact full for the students to hear from another former alumni that is out there impacting the world for Christ. Senior QB Mark Tumlinson Speaks Out

Thursday senior Mark Tumlinson spoke out to his peers. Mark shared about taring his ACL his junior year, how he hit rock bottom, and how his relationship with God blossomed through it all. Mark went on to share great influence and leadership toward his peers, expressing that nothing is going to satisfy you more than a relationship with God. FCA Students Speak Powerfully Out to Their Peers

Overall this huddle/event was probably the best we have seen in a long time. Braydon spoke powerfully to all his peers. He had such a humble heart and shared with all his peers students that nothing will satisfy you like a relationship with God. He talked about sex, drugs, alcohol, and did a awesome job explaining what I relationship with Christ means to him and us. It was absolutely powerful. It did so well that he left little room for Hallie to speak, but she was solid as a rock as usual. There were right at 200 students. The "parent team" and their support was right there behind them as always. The kids thank you. Please continue to be in prayer for the students and school here at Yorba Linda high. They need you!

CSUF Gymnast and Youth Pastor speak at El Dorado High

Over 175 kids came out to hear CSUF gymnast Shelly Cooper and Youth Pastor Rich Miller speak at El Dorado High School earlier this week. The kids were influenced and impacted through a shared testimony and a gospel message from the speakers. The students are doing their part to spread the word across campus and encouraging their peers to attend FCA meetings. The parents provided pizza, water and cookies for all the kids. We would like to send out a special thank you to all of the parents for their continued support through donations, assistance and taking the time to help the students make an impact on their campus.

John Sarinana Speaks at YLH FCA

First FCA event/huddle of 2012 John Sarinana spoke for the students at YLH. John shared how God took him from a gang, drugs, alcohol, addictions, and near death experience, into a life with Christ. It all happened for John when he was 17 years old. His parents sent him to a center in mexico and John came back saved. God changed his life and he now looks to share his story where ever he can. John is now a youth pastor and says the past 10 years of his life have been the best. What a great infulence for the kids.

The "parent team" was there in full support as always with pizza, cookies, water, and goods.

Carl Hulick (Football- Esperanza) and Cody Crampton (Track- Canyon) both are North OC FCA students and both have received scholarships to play and perform for the UCLA Bruins.
Please be in prayer for these kids that they continue to remain tight with Jesus and impact their campus and world for Christ. It will be a great to have these two with their influence and FCA experience for our annual FCA Camp.

FCA Camp:

If your student has not been to the FCA UCLA summer camp, make this year the year. The reason I make the notice now, is that the spots will fill up fast. Each year the spots are filling up faster and faster. We make no profit off this and every year we raise money to get your child in. The dates are June 30th - July 3rd. This is a must event for your child. Extreme impact comes from this camp, as each group of students will have a Christian college athlete as their mentor for the week, as they live and practice on campus as a UCLA athlete. Each night there is a chapel concert, where roughly 800 girls and boy will be worshiping and learning about God. Please email me at bstanfield@fca.org if you want to your child to attend this camp. Money for the camp is negotiable for each student. As I said earlier, we raise money for the event, as well as money to get kids into the camp.

If you have seen me out, there is a good chance you have seen me with Skylee, especially on Sunday mornings at church. Skylee is an amazing kid that plays football, runs track, and has been a leader in FCA for two-three years now. Skylee was saved through FCA and is soon to be baptized. He tells me that he wants to be the one that breaks his generational curse as he withstands from drugs, alcohol and un-Godly behaviors, but just like all our teens on these campuses there are influences that are trying to pull him away from God's ways and into the worlds ways. Skylee's father is in prison, his two brothers are in jail awaiting trail, and he lives with his younger brother and mother whom has not had a job in 5 years. Skylee is like a son with me. I support his needs, and I am helping him get into College to earn a degree and play some college food ball along the way. Skylee has a 3.45 overall GPA, but will have to attend junior college because of being in remedial English. The great thing about that is that where we are sending him (Saddleback CC) FCA is strong and present by their head football coach. As we move closer to Skylee graduating and moving on to college there will be many needs this kid will have. The reason I write this, is to ask you to be in prayer with me for him, his needs, and his walk with Christ, as we try to help him impact the world for Christ.

Night of Worship at the Center Quad of Canyon High School

Friday night the Canyon leaders blew us away with their ability to put on a Night of Worship for all their peers within North Orange County. There were students invited from schools all over and it turned out to be a hit. It turned out to be a two and half hour event with a live band, where one high school student, a Cal State Fullerton baseball player, and a youth pastor were able to give their testimony throughout the night. Great Job kids and thank you to all the people that supported the kids to make this happen.

Throughout all the schools here in North Orange county the first week back we spent our focus and time supporting and building up the leaders. Egypt Mckee came into our leadership teams and introduced "The Clean Water Project" and talked with the leaders about what it means to be a leader and about their walk with Christ. Leadership mostly comes by nature within the students, but it also comes when you present an opportunity to the student where they can become a leader.
The leaders are all ramped up and ready to go for the new year.

Monday we had a record number turn out for FCA at EDHS, where the students theme is catch fire. NFL QB Egypt Mckee and Cal State Fullerton Baseball Mike Lorenzen Spoke and gave the message along with two other FCA student leaders. Due completely to prayer and parent support the students on the campus are feeling the love and support. Today the students where given a band with Phil:3:14 and an FCA bible, as well as provided with Physical support, pizza, goods, home made cookies, and prayer that is really making a difference. The students had one of the best FCA huddles of the year last week when Cal State Fullerton Volleyball player and NFL Egypt Mckee spoke. He is by far the best speakers that we have had this year. There were over 200 in attendance. The student leaders are stepping up and making that impact. Big Tommy came to YLHS Tuesday and reached many. It was a time where the leaders in FCA stood up and expressed their heart for FCA, the Campus, and seeing God move on it. Big Tommy followed with his amazing testimony of never starting in High school, yet pushed, never gave up, and made it on the USC football team. He was defensive team caption by his senior season and spent ten years as their team Chaplin. Many of the students got their hearts right or back on track. Valencia High Is Off and Rolling

Valencia unlike the other schools just started their FCA this year. The kids we assist, equip, and mentor are a great group. They are in need of a lot of support though. with being the first year, makes it difficult because there is not a lot of parent support. The kids are really doing a great job despite. The first event/huddle outreach they had over 100 people attend. It was a great event as they had pizza provided free from some of the Parent support and had a speaker share their testimony. Overall it is a great start and many of the students are catching fire as they make a difference on their campus. Thursday Big Tommy which was a football walk on in college at USC spoke to the kids in FCA. It was a great event/huddle the kids had for their school. There were over 170 studentst and half raised their hand to commit to walk with the Lord to impact the campus and to impact the world for Christ. Friday the students at Canyon High had Cal State Fullerton's baseball Mike Lorenzon came to speak to all their peers there at CHS. It was a great influence has Mike spent time sharing his struggles of peer pressure, alcohol, and drugs in high school. He explained how he gave his life to Christ as a Junior in HS and all that changed along with the life that he now lives because of that choice. He did a wonderful job explaining the reality of what these kids are going through and his experience of what he went through. In the end Mike gave the kids a chance to take their life to and walk with Christ. The parent CHS really did a great job supporting the students with Pizza and deserts for over 130 students- all free. Please be in prayer for the students of FCA at CHS.

Wednesday, the Students threw another outstanding FCA. As USC's "Big Tommy" was back to share his story. He was a 10 year team Chaplin, a defensive team caption, that walked on at USC and actually only has one play to his name. His "Rudy" like story is hard to believe and as usual influences many. Within this FCA, Big Tommy had over 20 students to clear the mud and rededicate their life to way with the Lord. It was a pretty impressive turn out for Canyon's first FCA event of the year. It was structured the same as the others around North OC. They spent time with a "Get to Know" where students went around and found other students they did not know and asked them some questions. Mrs Koch is one of the parent's from the "Parent Team" and she helped with the Pizza provided by FCA and other goodies for the day. The motto for the year is depth and quality. Our hope and prayer is that students and FCA evolves into something with great depth and quality in the 2011 school year. Our First FCA of the year was a complete success as Jake Olson shared his outstanding testimony battling cancer which ultimately has lead to his loss of eye sight. FCA's purpose is to see the kids on fire with the Lord and pushing to reach their highest level of performance all with and for the Lord. To be champions for life that impact the world for Christ.

FCA UCLA Camp 2011

(All of the Blue shirts are professional coaches, collegiate coaches, high school coaches, and collegiate players. The White shirts are boy and girl high school student campers from all over Southern CA)

With many professional and collegiate coaches, along with the professional and college players that personally mentored and coached the high school players all week, it turned out to be an excellent time of improving athletically, and encountering Christ powerfully.

One student’s story- One student I met at camp was Jeremiah. Jeremiah is a sophomore football player that is losing his mother to an illness, he has never met his father, and is currently living in a situation with limited family. I know all this because he was one of the kids that came to me for prayer after making a decision to give his life to Christ. There are 682 stories that are in this picture and through your support and prayer within FCA, God was able to reach in and grab the hearts of his kids. 530 of the 682 athletes that stepped foot on UCLA’s campus last week made a commitment to Christ as they encountered him and all that he is at the camp. Lets live so that others may come to know the hope and the saving relationship of walking with him. Praise him!

A Shocking Reality

Tuesday in our Leadership meeting we started our new series and bible study. Each leadership meeting we have a time of bible study, a testimony, and a time of prayer. Our theme for this semester is "Catch Fire". The leadership's prayer, study, and heart is to catch fire with God to see him move in a powerful way in their life and this campus

One of our Juinor leaders of FCA spoke and gave our testimony of the day. It was shocking to here all that she has been through and to see how God is moving in the midst. Not everyone of the kids on this campus may say it, but a lot of these kids have it tough, with a lot of pressure, and they need our support and prayer. Lets continue to take the time and pray for them, FCA, and this campus. They need it!

The Rooney Story

FCA was honored to have brothers Sean Rooney( Professional baseball player- Washington Nationals) and Colin Rooney(Pepperdine baseball) to come and share about their life and testimony. Most of you around here probably heard about the tragedy that struck their family some years back. Their father and older brother (whom also played at Pepperdine) were killed in a private plane crash. The two both shared some powerful stories of how they overcame with Christ and how they live to bring glory to God with their life and through their platform in sports. God is good. We have faith and trust his will, taking not a day for granted. Sean and Colin did a wonderful job of strengthen the faith and drawing students closer to our great God.

God, my prayer for these kids is that they will encounter you daily to reach the amazing mission you have for them in their life to impact the world and further your kingdom. Amen

For the first two weeks of January there will be limited updates for North OC FCA ministry on our blog at www.NorthOCFCA.blogspot.com . The ministry has continued and will continue as planned with leadership meetings and outreach huddle events.
On Tuesday January 3rd my father fell from a hunting stand and went to be with the Lord. I am sure most of us have experienced death close within the family. I do not know where to start in explaining all that I have gone through in the past week, but I am so thrilled to bring you news that gives me great joy in all of this. I earnestly THANK YOU FOR PRAYERS. God has moved even in the midst of a difficult situation! We had three family members (my brother, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law) that all came to the Lord during this time. Amen!
My father was 60 years old. Two years ago my father joined in serving the church, and as of this year he joined the board. For the first time in his life he was growing in the Lord through a daily devotional. I never heard my father pray once, yet I could see as well as others directly associated with him, that a change had happened within him. It took 58 years for my father to walk daily with the Lord. Through his example and influence my father not only brought his family together and to the Lord, but I saw hundreds raise their hands and hearts to receive the Lord the day of the funeral. During one of the town’s biggest funerals, through prayer, and through my father, honor and glory was brought to God and His kingdom was furthered. Amen!
My hope is that I can assist you parents, your family, these schools, the Church, and God in some small way to help complete God’s plan.

Today at Esperanza High's FCA huddle, studnet leaders had "Santa Clause" and company to come out and share the real reason of the season. It was awesome to see a pour out of students attend and get there FCA picture with Santa!
It was awesome to watch such togetherness and support here on this campus from all involved. The parents providing the pizza, raffle items, goodies, time, resources, and prayers to see God move. The leaders and FCA students here are a joy to watch come closer to the lord each week as they make a difference on their campus. Lets all continue to be in prayer for them and this campus.

3 College Athletes Speak

Kristen Sharkey (Northwestern- Softball), Haley (Biola- Basketball), and Benji Sutherland (Biola- Baseball) all spoke to the FCA group at Orange Lutheran High on Wednesday. There testimonies were of great influence, exampling how God is their purpose, strength, and love that leads them in all that they do.
A continued thank you to all the people that make this happen and ask God to move through FCA. A difference has been made. Lets all continue to pray.

Christmas Outreach 12/14

Wednesday roughly 200 came to Yorba Linda High's FCA. Where an FCA leader dressed as Santa Clause shared about Jesus being the real reason for the season. He then also prayed over the FCA group. The other leaders conintued to share about Christmas as they had a raffle, gave free pizza, and other goodies all provided by the parents. God is moving through these kids on this campus. Please continue to pray that he continues to move. We need your prayers and support.

Christmas Outreach Event- VP- 12/14

Tuesday the FCA students at Villa Park had their final event of the semester. Through this outreach they were supplied pizza, raffle items, goodies, and drinks by parents. As we had a live DJ, some FCA leaders were there break dancing, and they spent some time reaching out with the real reason of the season. Leader Mark Vega shared the reason we celebrate Christmas.
Lets continue to pray that God will have his hand upon these students and that he moves through them to make a difference on their campus.
